Void of Course

Void-of-Course Moon Tracker — When Not to Launch

🌓 Live · Transit status

Is the moon in a sign right now — or in between?

In traditional astrology, the moon is “void of course” when it has completed its last major aspect in a sign but hasn’t yet entered the next. Old wisdom says: don’t launch anything during these windows — it won’t stick. Use them for rest, journaling, and integration instead.

🌓 Moon transit status

Right now: 🌑 New Moon in Taurus (19.9°)

Moon is in-sign right now. Normal ritual timing applies.

Upcoming major events (use “do not launch” caution for 4-6 hours around each):

  • 🌑 New Moon in Taurus — May 16, 8:01 pm GMT+0000
  • 🌕 Full Moon in Scorpio — May 1, 5:23 pm GMT+0000

Void-of-course periods are when the moon has made its last aspect in a sign before changing signs — traditionally “nothing will come of what’s initiated.” Precise VoC windows require additional ephemeris data; this widget flags the major phase events where VoC caution commonly overlaps.

The precise VoC windows change daily and depend on which aspects are being made. Full VoC ephemeris is on our roadmap as a Q3 tool upgrade. For now, this widget flags the *major* phase-change moments (New & Full Moons) which are VoC-adjacent traditionally — good times to pause new commitments.

**Who cares about this**: if you find yourself repeatedly saying “I signed that contract and nothing happened” or “I sent that message and it went nowhere,” try tracking whether those happened during a VoC window. Many practitioners find a real correlation over time — not because the stars force anything, but because the observer *becomes* a more careful timer, and that care itself improves outcomes.
